I'm new to Dana's Dogs and want to book a stay, what are my next steps?
Great! The first step is to set up a meet and greet with you, your dog, and Dana. This allows you to see where your dog will be staying and help Dana determine how to tailor her services. You can setup a meet and greet by contacting Dana at 319-427-2170 or email danasdogsllc@gmail.com.
What do I need to do before boarding my dog?

All dogs must be non-aggressive. Dog(s) will be evaluated at their meet and greet on their temperament with other dogs and children in order to stay. If your pet does not get along well with others, drop-in visits might be more appropriate.
Must provide up to date vaccination records from a veterinarian for DLHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), Bordatella, and Rabies.
Why use Dana's Dogs instead of a traditional kennel or my vet?
Though both traditional kennels and vet boarding have benefits, some dogs are more suited for one-on-one care while you're away. Dana's Dogs provides this with customized exercise to best suit your dog's energy level, plus the comforts of home.
Your furbabies are not confined to a small space, they are welcomed into our home including being able to relax on the couch, have regular potty breaks, get plenty of belly rubs and play with interactive puzzle toys.
What should I bring?
To help prevent tummy aches, we require pet owners to bring the food their dog is used to eating. Bring enough food for the entire stay and a few extra helpings just in case.
Any medication your pup will require during their stay, and a leash for walking. We also recommend something that smells like home, such as a blanket or t-shirt to make them feel more comfortable.
We require proof of vaccinations prior to boarding and payment at check-out or before, for all services.
How many dogs do you take at a time?
One of the great benefits of Dana's Dogs is your dog gets one-on-one attention. My state license says I can have up to 15 dogs at one time, however, my typical maximum capacity is 8 guests plus my 2 however, I do fit temperaments, activity levels, and playstyles as well.
For example, I try not to schedule rambunctious dogs or puppies with senior dogs to reduce any chances of anyone getting hurt and ensure everyone has a good time. This also means that I may have 1 dog and consider myself "full" if it's what's in the best interest of that one dog. All spots are filled on a 1st come 1st served basis.
Will my dog be socialized if I'm boarding?
Each dog is different. Your dog’s daily activities can be tailored to best suit their energy level and desired socialization. We offer playtimes, enrichment activities, cuddle times, and their own personal space.
What is a drop-in visit?
Includes at least 30-45 minutes of potty and playtime per visit. This also includes feeding, watering, administering any medications and loving on your dog. Custom arrangements can also be made to fit your pet's needs.
How can I make a reservation for my dog?
All dogs must go through a meet and greet before boarding. You can set this up by contacting Dana's Dogs at DanasDogsLLC@Gmail.com, through Facebook messenger or calling/text (319) 427-2170.
Sports are filled on a first come, first served basis so making reservations early is encouraged.
How do I pay?
We offer several options for payment, you can pay via cash, check, Venmo or credit card. If you pay through credit, there is a 4% service charge. All payments are due at pick-up.
