Meet Dana and why she is in the dog boarding business
Get to know Dana
I'm Dana, owner of Dana's Dogs LLC. I have always been passionate about dogs and ensuring they have proper care that enriches their lives.
I started watching dogs doing drop-in visits for many years; however, I officially formed Dana's Dogs LLC in 2019. I also gained my Iowa Dog Boarding and Daycare license in early 2020, expanding my business with a licensed, in-home boarding option.
Having my own dog business has always been a dream of mine. I love giving each dog their own special attention and tailoring my services to our guest's needs.
Family business
When your dog is boarding with us. Your dog becomes part of our family, and that means they get cuddles, playtime, and love from all my family members, including Dana's husband: Ben, her kids: Madelynn (16) and Finley (6), plus our fur babies: Bella, a German Shepherd/Dachshund mix, Rocky, an Australian Cattle Dog, and Zoey a Corgi.
Though Dana is the main caretaker and always has a watchful eye, as moms do, everyone pitches in during playtime and gives your fur baby love. Check out the photos below to see for yourself!
Certifications and Trainings
Iowa Animal Welfare License
Dana's Dogs LLC is licensed by the state of Iowa through the Department of Agriculture for dog boarding, dog daycare, and dog training. This means I have passed on-site inspections of my facility in Salem and have the correct procedures in place to ensure the safety of the animals in my care.
Fear Free Pet Professional Certification
The Fear Free mission is to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets.
Canine First Aid and Paw Injuries Certification
Canine First Aid and Paw Injuries Certification
I have completed my certification through Rachel Bean RVN's School for Canine First Aid - Paw and Pad Injuries. This course covered basic paw injuries and how to treat them as well as when to contact your veterinarian.
